Thank you for all of the help you've given.

Mr. Stein, Mr. Falus recommended that I send you the file
at the bottom of this post, but when I tried to mail directly
it bounced, so I'm taking the liberty of posting to the list.

As an experiment, I set the mapped size to 1024*1024*2+4096 as Mr. Falus
mentioned, and I found that if I locked the memory and zeroed it
before using it, I at least left the system in a useable state, but
I didn't get an image.

I've swapped hard drives back to the originally installed Windows
drive.  I'm not sure if this is the right file, but I found
a file called "iticfg32.txt" which seems to be right.  Again,
at the moment under windows everything we've tried works
except for saving files while using the external trigger.
(Well, except also for the fact that when we get the 1024x1024
image, we see the 24 columns of masked pixels on one side of the
image and presumably loose some columns on the other side).
Below is a copy of this "iticfg32.txt."  Is this what is
needed to produce a *.cam file?  

I will contact the IMAP folks tomorrow to see if I can 
get any more information from them.
